The Acting Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development, Professor Fuh Calistus, visited the Colomine small-scale gold mine operated by COMINCOR (Codias SA) on Tuesday 12 December 2023. This official visit is part of the launch of the second phase of operation of this project using Carbon-in-Leach, a leaching treatment system that enables gold ore to be treated in a closed system. The advantages of this procedure are environmental protection, as the effluent is no longer discharged into the environment, an increase in metal yield of between 30 and 90%, and improved safety for personnel working on the site. By adopting this new operating system, CODIAS S.A. has become the first company in Central Africa to do so.
